Default Music instruments

I just bought a Roland fantom x6 about a week ago and have been messing around with it, cant say I know how to produce an entire mixed song yet.
Been interested in making music for quite a while and wondering how many others on here have the same interest/hobby.

Funny how all that music in my head dissapeared as soon as I got something to create it with.

But yeah, would be tight if some fellow s2k'ers out there who do this as a hobby or something made it more aware on the site.. Make it a little community like thing, cus i'd for sure be interested in posting what i've been creating.

Anyway, putting this out there as off-topic cus theres no catagory for it (yet?)

It'd be nice to see who else out there thats a little creative making music.

That's a great unit.. I have a Motif XS7 myself.

I don't use it much, the keyboard player in my band doesn't like it when I write parts for him

Here's a couple crappy demos I made that some guy asked if he could use in an independent movie.. it was pretty cool to re-record them with a full orchestra.

That sounds pretty good. What tempo speed were you at?
Kinda sounded like the begining of a sad movie in the second one.

hehe I have no idea, I'd have to pull up Sonar and look. Both are probably around 80 I would guess

I only use synths for..synth parts, and track everything in Sonar 4 Pro

Hmm, i've been using 94, 96, 98, 100.
I seem to lose synchranization easy with other speeds.
At these, I can be at least close to the rythem im shooting for.
Not quite sure how to use the fantoms quantize feature yet.

Lucky me its programs allow me to edit everything.

You ever test out an Akai MPC series?
Im hearing soo much about them and how simple it is to create a track.
Sadly all that im hearing about them is the use in sampling, not actually "creating" anything from scratch.

oh well, i'll soon to finish what i've started eventually.
When thats done, my next project is to figure out how to post it so it can be listened to.
