Sadly, but truely my aquarium has turned into a piss green swamp. The water clearity is worse than a new england blizzard. The water is a greenish color.
Now what i have done.
-Full water replacement
-Water treatment solution for tap water
-Algae Clumper solution
-boiled tank and rocks
-changed tank water every week
-sealed my tank from light for 3 days
-replaced filter
-replaced filter system to 30 gallon from 10
filter
-the are brackfish puffers
-all the water quality tests possible, only bad thing is high nitrate, but im treated that and still nothing

This has never been a problem, the tank has been going for 4 months. It was fine until a month ago

here is a picture of the guys..
maybe they can get your pitty to help them

They thank you in advance
and so i do!

High nitrates make the tank very condusive to growing alge Do you have any Alge Cats or other types of fish that find alage a great meal?

Great little Puffers in there. I agree with mns, get a Plascostamos (sp?) or some other sort of algae eater first before you start messing with chemicals.

sealing from light is your problem, get a brighter light and keep it on at all times. I had the same problem with mine.

Thats interesting? i thought the algae and nutrients thrive on the light?
I have two mini might bulbs 9 watts 5000K, they are pretty bright actually. My digi camera just sucks so thats why it looks like that in the photo

Its hard for me to get other fish in the tank, the puffer fish only like to kick it with their own kind. They will beat up other fish

BS. I guarantee you I can get you some fish that will whup up on your puffer...

I say ditch the puffer and brackish setup, and go with African cichlids... With puffers, you can't feed them mice and birds...
