Thought I'd post this here. It also has a link to my kitchen renovation, which was done last year:

Very nice!

I redid my bathroom this past winter, but in a way I took the easy way out. I did the tub and surround by bathfitter people. It was more expensive likely but they were done in 4 hours. I am impressed.

I replaced the toilet and sink, and did the floor with dura ceramic.

^ I think that is a good compromise to tearing everything out. And less expensive I would think. Part of my remodeling of both rooms was an investment decision. I would never have spent the money (i.e. high-end renovations) on a condo in another location. The location and especially the view make it pay off. Of course, enjoying the results for another 10+ years (and maybe more) will be great, too!

I definitely agree as an investment decision. I did this for the same reason. I can't afford to move to something nicer or high end, so why not make your comfy surroundings the way one likes. Then there is no reason to move.

Because I did my bathroom, and floor I had to do the hallway and 2 bedrooms flooring. Had the flooring guy here anyways

Very nice. I've been remodeling my new house and my bathrooms are on the list for 2009 - detached cabinets are the rage these days.

Thanks! I still need to do the master bath, but not for another couple of years. I'm out of money!
