do they shed a lot?
I would love to have one. I love my cat, but I am getting sick of all the fur. If you look at her cross-eyed, she sheds. One morning she got up and sneezed. When she did, you could see this mushroom cloud of fur fly off. ARG!

The pic I posted is a male of just under 30 pounds...

Because the Coon is both a long and a wirehair, they can be expected to shed, yes. One of the characteristics of a Coon is an extremely full tail and that clearly is the long hair.

The pic joe posted with the grey tabby on the side of the gas grill has many of the Coon characteristics.

My neighbor has a couple of French Poodles, the little ones. I want to walk my cat buy on a leash and have those yappy things run for cover out of fear.

We thought he was a Maine Coon until I saw how big the real Maine Coon's are. Our's might be a Maine Coon "JR".
