Default my clutch is misbehaving. help?

I don't own an S2000, so I thought I'd ask my question in OT instead. I could bring this up on an integra forum, but I don't think the problem is specific to integras, and I'm sure I'll get nothing but mean replies on an integra forum because they're all mean over there. (I'd probably be called a ricer for whatever reason they have nowadays) and I like you guys better anyway.

So here's what's been happening:

When the weather became cold here in Michigan my car started acting funny. Two major symptoms:
1. The 'catch-point' of the clutch (when the gear catches while letting out the clutch) became really low to the floor. I would only lift my foot a centimeter and the car would fly forward.
2. The shifter was really hard to put in gear. I'd have to put a lot of elbow grease into pushing the stick into any gear.

Now, this has happened to me before when the weather got cold, but it seemed extra bad this winter. As the day went on, the catch-point got lower and lower, and the shifter got harder. Finally, the clutch started sticking a bit. When I push it down and lift my foot, it comes up very very slow for a second then pops back up the rest of the way.

Now it's really bad.. When I push the clutch down, it just doesn't come back up. In fact, there is practically no resistance on it at all. If I tap the pedal with my foot, it just falls down to the floor.

I tried letting the car warm up, putting in new oil, and putting in new antifreeze. I have no idea what's wrong, but I am in no way car savvy. So that's why I'm asking you

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance..

How many miles on the clutch?
Sounds like a very weird clutch behaviour to me.
But then again, I don't know much about cars.
I would have the car checked asap before the tranny gets hurt because of the misbehaving clutch.

Oh, I almost forgot to call you a ricer for whatever reason .

I'm making an appointment with the acura dealership tomorrow morning. Unfortunately they're usually backed up in appointments for about a week. I was hoping for a solution to the problem, so if nothing else, I can drive the car to the dealer instead of having it towed.

Thanks

You may have a hydrolics problem. Have you checked your clutch master cylinder? On the S2000 it's to the right and below the brake master cylinder. Either way you've got a dead clutch and I'd say take it to the dealer to have a look. It might just need fluid and flush. Your clutch works similarly to your brakes, just in reverse.

You must be right, that is the most logical conclusion, and I had someone tell me the same thing just a few minutes ago. I checked the brake fluid and it was at a good level, so it must be a shot clutch master cylinder.
The good news is I know what's wrong.
The bad news is that Acura is going to charge me at least $300 for this job.

Maybe they'll lend me a type S of some kind while they work on it.
