My dog smells like a dead skunk!
Anyone know how to do an anal sac cleansing? My vet charges $35, and the last time I saw him do it. He basically stuck a gloved finger up my dog's ass (poor guy...the dog, not the doc), wiggled it around.
As he took his finger out, the dog "spewed" out of his a$$. It was funny that the doc's coat was covered in the $h!t....the dog got his just desserts, for getting a finger or two shoved up him.
Is there something special that the doc does while his fingers are in the dog's a$$?

Viper, I have read many of your posts so I know you are the kind of guy that won't mind doing a little experimental tinkering. I would ask you to do something before you take Fido to the vet. Get yourself some raw broccoli and cabbage and eat it yourself every day for a few days. Now, smell your own ass. I think you will figure it out from there.

But mine don't smell anywhere near as bad as the dog's. AND, this isn't the first time she eats this stuff but it is the first time she's smelled this bad. The closest has been when she picks up a piece of wood on her walks (especially partially burnt ones) and eats some of it. So, I'm thinking she may have done this lately. My wife says the dog isn't blocked up and is quite "regular" on the walks and have not noticed anything unusual in that area. Hopefully, this "stinky" stage is temporary. Haven't smelled one for a few hours now.

Could have a parasitic infection. Giardia can be asymptomatic and still cause foul smelling gas. Then again, did your dog possibly eat a skunk?
