My First "Street Magic" Gig
This afternoon I'll be at UCLA pretending to be a "street" magician. One of the dorms is having a Social for the incoming freshmen, with a "Boardwalk" theme, and they've hired me to perform for three hours.
It's a bit artificial, I admit, but it should be a lot of fun.
(Raptor, Mark, TH, and all you other Trojans: don't worry, I may even manage to help some of these impressionable youths to see the light.

Haha...are you gonna be dressed in something funky? Gotta keep it authentic, you know...some silver body paint would be a good touch.
When I was a student at UCLA, my dorm hosted a Halloween trick-or-treat thing for some local kids. For the theme, I was dressed in some rags (like kinda bum-looking), and some little kid kicked me in the shin for no good reason. Hope you have better luck.

Well, everything went great! I got a fabulous letter of recommendation from the head of student housing at UCLA, and they're going to give my name to other organizers on campus.
For a couple of groups I did a rope routine in which I tell them that they're going to be hypnotized. Then I gave the a post-hypnotic suggestion: they'll all root for USC against Cal.
