Default My flooded condo

Last night I was being a lazy ass off in my bedroom, sitting in a chair watching some TV in my bedroom. I heard a noise coming from out in the front hall and thought it was Kari coming back from doing some shopping, and the sound was plastic bags crinkling. It went on for a while so I went to investigate.

Turns out the sound was actually water spilling off the edge of the counter, out of the sink, onto the tile floor and out in to the dining room and front hall. I freaked out, and ran in to the kitchen in bare feet and immediately slid across the room into the wall at the other side of the kitchen. I grabbed some large tupperware containers and began emptying the sink but then took off to my storage room to grab some buckets. I slipped and fell twice on the 20 foot journey.

After about 8-10 bucket loads of water being poured into the bathtub (separate drainage line) I went out to the hall and found my next door neighbors manning a pair of wet/dry shop vacs. I stole one and started cleaning up the standing water in my condo. Before the water seeped across the tile further I picked up about 14 pairs of Kari's shoes and put them on a top rack, off the floor so there wouldn't be any damage to them.

A plumber gets called out and spends well over 2 hours cleaning up the drains, snaking 2 stories down into the parkade below the building.

I spent hours cleaning the place up, wiping up peoples' food and other junk from their kitchen sinks that was strewn about my house. It's disgusting.

Finally Kari comes home and walks in and says 'What the hell is going on???" So I explain there was flooding out of the kitchen sink and I've been working for hours and I'm hot and sweating and I've been cleaning up other peoples' kitchen waste and shop vacuuming the house and there's a plumber here I'm disinfecting the entire condo now and I'm tired and I have so much work to do that I've been pulled away from....

So Kari drops her bags and says:

"Did the water touch my shoes!?!?!???"

Women.

Ah yes no feelings there towards her, just a commentary on women and their priorities.

I'm running around like a goon for hours trying to prevent damage to the condo and our possessions, and her only concern is about her shoes getting wet. Shoes that she wears outside. In the rain. Where they get wet.

Yikes, I would just move if the toilet overflowed.
