I don't know what to say, but I will pray for you. My uncle killed himself 20 years ago, but I still remember it. Like my uncle, I think your friend had a bigger problem, maybe depression, that drove him to suicide.

i keep thinking about him showing off his new ear pierce when i saw him in korea.
he was so happy about being "cool" with that ear rings on.

he said, "heehee, cool, eh? i know it's silly, but i really wanna have fun before i start studying for the exam. heehee."

yeah, you silly bastard...

seung,

Do you know why this happens? Just remember faith is an individual belief. What your feeling is grief of the loss of your friend. All these feeling come into play! Mad at him for doing such a dumb thing, and confussed because there is not an explaination for his actions. Sadness that you'll not be able to see him again. It's part of life and your allowed to have these feelings so don't deny them either. We all grieve because of loss and you have lost. Understand it and search for a deeper meaning within yourself and you'll grow. Don't be angry at yourself, there is nothing that you could have done to stop it. The feeling of guilt is not a factor and should never be. It is a false emotion of lies. Don't secum to it in anyway. Grieve at the loss of your friend not at your imaganation of what you think you could have or should have or if. It doesn't exsist. If you don't understand what I'm saying please ask.

I grieve with you at your loss of your friend and I'm sorry. God Bless You!

Jeff

sorry to hear that dude. i'll light an incense for him at the temple.

Namu Amida Butsu...

it's not uncommon for younger people to kill themselves in the "Asian cram" style school system - i'm just glad i didn't go through that. it's gotten so bad (and competitive) i've heard jokes about "if you don't start at the right pre-school, you're screwed for life..."

if anyone has seen the nihon dorama called "sweet home" starring Yamaguchi Tomoko you'd know what i mean.

Seung, someone very close to me tried to commit suicide a little over a year ago. He didn't succeed, but I cried for days. There are complicated circumstances involved, but I can say with some clarity that I will never understand it, nor will I ever stop feeling some amount of guilt that I couldn't do anything to make his life a little better. It was his decision, but what I think the people who do this don't realize is that the weight of that decision is carried on MANY people's shoulders.

I'm so sorry, and I hope that both you and your friend find peace...
