For Charlie's best solution is to cough up about $200-$400
and buy the product called DVDO scaler, which converts 480interlaced to 480 progressive scan and that outputs in vga I believe. I had the first generation DVDO and I thought it was pretty darn good for my LCD projector.

Cool stuff you got there Mindcore,
Sometimes you surprise me with post like this and also post about you learning to play Cliffs of Dover with Eric Johnson.
I love that tune and I have the tab book but I don't have skill yet to play. But soon...
Anyway, you seem to be very fun friend to hang out with.
Too bad, you are at pretty far away, not to metion different coutry. I do have a friend in Canada, and if I ever visit him over there I will be sure to look you up.

I currently have Sharp's DW-100U Hi-def LCD and I am pretty happy, but the new Sharp's 9000 DLP projector looks so yummy.

Too bad my good earning got crapped since the terrorist attact and cannot afford to make a switch at the moment. But hopely later.....

By the way, awesome looking theater, Nachtmeister.
I've been reading some of your posts, and sounds like you are very rich. And I love that Saya avatar, she is such a cutie with luscious lips. Do you know if there is any more of Blood animation?

There is an optional adapter you can get that will allow you to connect S-Video and RCA type inputs. Here is the info:

174963-001 Compaq Multimedia Adapter w/remote control

Price is around 400.00.

I'm full of surprises Randy!, any time your up in Toronto let me know..

Did I look at anything other then the Runco? No, The deal was My room was to small for the Vidikron Vision 2 that I had. I worked out a deal where I would trade a guy my CRT for his Runco and 7000 cash. So over all it was a fair deal.

I like the Rucno, though it has no video scaler builtin, I had previously had a Farudja line quadroupler anyway so It worked out nice. That was one of the things that I would never get rid of. It supports full HD. 1080 i/p

If I had to do it again, I would look at the
Sharp 9000 or the new Yamaha.
Only reason is that almost all Runco's are reworked units from other mfg's and aren't reallly worth the price they charge for them.

Even upclose it was hard to see the pixel in my DLP projector. I would never get an LCD projector because I have seen LCD projectors and they just do not compare to a DLP set up. DLP is the better technology in my opinion. Brighter picture and more bang for your buck on DVDs.

I recently purchased a 50" Fujitsu Plasma screen. (Hi-def)

I dont think you can beat the crystal clear picture, projectors are good in a dark room and can project to a massive size, but for me there is no contest between a projector and a plasma.

Wow, this thread coming back up is kinda depressing.

I posted somewhere else about how my projector fell from the ceiling and broke into tiny bits..

I've been down the the tiny 52" rear projection for entirely too long
