Question my mouse won't work! help!

I have a logitech wireless mouse and keyboard... and just recently- I was reaching for something and mashed a couple keys on my keyboard... when I did this- the mouse completely stopped... unresponsive... none of the buttons work and it won't drag the icon on the screen...

The mouse is a ball-based model, and I just recently changed the batteries because about 2 weeks ago it was faltering on me due to that... (which was completely different- slowly the mouse began to lose sensitivity- not an abrupt loss of function like this time).

I've tried restarting the comuter... multiple times... I've tried using keystrokes on the keyboard to manipulate mouse settings in the control panel... I've tried plugging in a wired mouse to the port in the computer... and all resulted in NOTHING!

So I'm assuming 2 things... either there is a keystroke on the keyboard that inactivates the mouse... or there is a nasty ass virus on my computer...?

Any suggestions??

check with logictech as I don't recall a keystroke that disables the mouse in window. But maybe logictech put a disable keystroke into its keyboards.

Seems like a simple overlook, but I'm gonna x2 check....

There is a little button on you're keyboard, the mouse, and the reviecing unit that plugs into you're PS2 ports in the back of you're PC. Have you pressed them all? Sometimes the reciever can 'loose' the keyboard or mouse signal, just gotta press the buttons to 'resyc' with it.

Otherwise I would uninstall any software related to them and just re-install.

Hope this helps

looks like I might have to uninstall and reinstall... tried to resync it... but nothing worked...

I'm also going to try and put another set of new batteries in them... maybe these have something wrong with them...

All profesionally developed windows based program have the ability to be manipulated without a mouse also most numeric keypads show you the shortcuts to move the mouse. Tab throught the controls on a page alt+tab to change applications use the curser controls etc. You don't need a mouse on a professonally developed program.
