My neighbor has the best job
So my neighbor pulls up last Friday night in a brand new Audi A8L. I wander over with my roommate to inspect the car, and well, it was very impressive. My neighbor is in his early 30's and drives an older Yukon, so I asked if it was a purchase or a lease. He says something about "they gave it to me for a few days" and left it at that. Not one to press, I didn't inquire further. Last night he pulls up in a brand new BMW E55 AMG. Wow. He took us out for a testdrive and I can't accurately describe the acceleration that car has. It felt like an airplane when you get pushed back in your seat during takeoff. It lasted for about 5 seconds, and we were at about 85 MPH. Then he took it on the highway. I think it hit 120 on the entrance ramp. After the test drive I had to ask what my neighbor did for a living, and it turns out he works in the creative design center for Cadillac working on the clay mock-ups of new cars. They give him these cars to draw inspiration and ideas from when he works on new concept cars for Cadillac. What a great job. I am in the wrong line of work.
Probably not. Not saying there is anything wrong with GM cars, but I think BMW sets the pace and GM tries to keep up. He seemed pretty interested when we said the auto-close button for the trunk and the door lock button in the trunk was a nice touch. It seems like he gets to take the little classy touches of other cars, and tries to incorporate them into the next-gen Cadillac cars. Follow the leader.
