new SLK on the horizon...

"The faster of the two 2002 AMG cars at the show is the bold new Mercedes-Benz SLK32 convertible. The original SLKs were criticized for being underpowered and softly sprung, but this souped-up iteration is anything but meek. It gets a 349-hp supercharged engine (expect 0-60 in less than five seconds), much stiffer springs and a new SpeedShift automatic transmission that works something like paddle shifters in F1 race cars. It will be on sale this fall. No price has been set. -- M.F. "

Waaaaay out of my price range, but AMG never dissapoints! I'm sure their stats will not differ too much from the actual car's ratings.

My friend works at Mercedes Benz of North America's headquarters and they have a "test mule" there that he drove. He said the acceleration is amazing and that the ride is far superior to the standard SLK.
