My New Toy
Well its not really s2000 related but it is my new toy

I also got this along with it:

(it hasn't arrived yet in the mail so I can only use the picture from the meade website)
Some facts if anyone is interested:
The telescope is a celestron firstscope 114EQ short. It has a focal length of 1000mm f/9 and has a 4.5" primary mirror (reflector type)
The meade DSI is a color CCD camera designed specifically for astrophotograpy with a shutter speed ranging from 1/10,000 of a second to one full hour. Plus it has a lot of nifty extras bundled in the software.
I've been taking an astronomy course here at Rutgers and I've become really interested in space / stars. So for V-day my girlfriend decided to buy me my first real telescope. After it being backordered for a bit, it finally came the other day. We took it out the first good night for viewing, We got to see saturn and its rings, the moon and a lot of craters, and jupiter. Also looked at other misc things but unfortunatly the human eye isn't strong enough so we were basically just looking at balls of lights
Eithor way, when my ccd camera comes in, I'll be sure to post some pictures captured through it

Very sweet! I went camping once and ran into a whole field of guys on the top of this mountain with really high powered telescopes.
It was rad to see all those burning balls of gas up close!
Sweet toy!
