I am in agreement with you flojo... We are all adults (argueable I know 
) and paying members.... why should we be censored as to what we can talk about.. especially in the case of the offensive joke thread... That thread was clearly marked as to what it was, meaning if people dont like things of that nature they were warned not to look at it.... It was posted in the backlot forum, meaning members only, and only members over the age of 18....so where is the problem?

I will agree that the back lot seems to be a dumping ground for OT. Im ok with the no nudity thing (mainly because I only post at work), though I can see the argument for allowing it. The censoring of the joke thread is what irked me. My baby jokes were all in good fun (hence them being in the joke thread). I dont really see the need to censor that type of stuff... Especially considering the mutiple NSFW, 18+, and members only warnings.
Simply put, I dont see the back lot having much of a future with its current structure.

The point of the backlot is to discuss issues of sex, drugs, and debauchery in an open, friendly and less restricted atmosphere.
I don't believe that any issues or jokes broke any s2ki rules (at least in the backlot subsection)
Backlot is also NOT the OT's dumpster. If the thread hasn't broken any s2ki rules and is considered an "off topic" item it should remain in the OT.
Restricting access to only *paying* members, ensures less random loonies from around the interwebz posting in a thread that is already walking a fine line... I'm talking about the random people on the internet NOT most of our highly respected, appreciated and great members who are *guests*
