Default my physics thesis: how turbos work

Hey guys, Im in a college physics class and i'm writing a 2500 word essay on how a turbocharger works. The only part im having trouble getting information on is after the air passes through the intercooler, after the turbo/compressor etc., what happens when it enters the engine (cylinders)? Can anyone point me to a website that explains this? Thanks.

I checked the howstuffworks website and it doesnt say anything after it leaves the intercooler.

This one is damn close. I need to know why/how the air/fuel mixture combusts, everything thats happening after the intercooler, but before it enters the exhaust manifold (to exit).
Thanks though.

Have you taken a look at Corky Bell's book yet? Pretty much the turbo bible for the layman. Maybe he covered what you're looking for?

Well, after it leaves the cooler it works just like a regular engine. The turbo effects are all before the cylinder to prepare the air. Once you get tha air and fuel into the cylinder the systems works just like any other 4 stroke combustion engine.
