Default :( my s2000

I registered here like months ago, and never really got around to posting anyting. My boyfriend is a member, and he suggested I ask around on here for some information.

So here it is, i do believe this is totalled :

which is devestating to me. I've been a total mess since the accident, where i was t-boned in the front driver headlight/quarter panel on Friday 7/23/04. She hit me at 55, no brakes, ON HER CELL PHONE. Yes it was my fault, but then again Florida law states you must attempt to avoid an accident at all costs, and somehow talking on your cell phone, and not paying much attention to what is going on around you, is breaking the law. If she didn't slam me, she would have slammed the car 10 feet from me.

here is the story

I went and filled my RX at Eckerds, there is a road called "Barks Drive" right behind it, I should have went to the light which was about 100 feet or so, but i didn't, I waited and waited and waited almost 5 minutes until the light on Beal parkway turned red. All traffic was stopped, So I inched out, The traffic was backed up pretty bad, sure i didn't think too much, The SUV that was to the left of me looked in her sideview and gave me a thumbs up. So I inched out a little more. The front of the S2k is kinda long, and SUVs SUCK; I hate SUVs. So As i am getting ready to just go, I see the girl coming up at about 55 MPH, totally missing a car and jumping over into the turning lane. She was on her cell phone, and was looking to her right, NOT in front of her, and the fact that if she didn't hit me, she would have rear ended the last car in the turning lane because she was moving so fast and WASN'T paying much attention. She didn't brake for me, and the last car in line was maybe 15 feet away, she would have slammed them.

I had NO time to react, put it in reverse or just gun it, I looked to the right to see if I could go, but there was an old lady putting along at 25 mph (In a 45) Before i even knew it, No skid marks, No braking, she slammed (T-Boned) the front driver side of the car @ 55mph. I didn't even know what the hell was going on, i was sure she HAD to have seen the bright ass yellow car in front of her, it wasn'tn a in yellow light ya know.

She pulled off the road, STILL ON HER CELL PHONE. I pulled off the road also, I went over there to make sure she was ok, and she was STILL ON HER CELL PHONE SCREAMING. She never asked me if I was ok, never answered my question if she was ok, just ignored me.

I unfortunately can not call every honda dealership and ask if they have a 00 - 03 S200o in yellow, If any of you happen to ride by your Honda dealership (I can always have a car shipped to me, or go get it, I don't care.) and see a 00 - 03 Yellow s2000, please message me or post here or whatever with what information you can of the car. I won't settle for anything other than a YELLOW s2000. It's my dream car, a yellow s2k. For months I had a business card of one of the honda sales guy, which had a yellow one on his card - it sat in my rearview of my truck as motivation to get the car, so when i found one, i bought it. I'm not willing to pay over $23,000 for one. I bought my 2001 with 17k miles, for $22,000.

Thanks ya'll for help in advance, i really appreciate any information on a yellow one in your area. Like i said, distance is really no problem, i don't mind a roadtrip and if it is in California, that would be even cooler cause i know so many people in california

Damn, that really sucks. Although from your pictures, it doesn't look like the car's bad enough to be considered totaled by the insurance company. Did they tell you that yet?

I'd suggest posting this (or a link to this) in the Florida forum. I'm sure you'll be able to find a Spa S2k somewhere in FL. (I'm assuming that you're in Fort Walton Beach, FL.....right?)

Was it considered your fault because you were making the left turn? Shouldn't part of the fault also reside w/ this other driver? I mean, if the speed limit's 45 mph & she's doing 55 mph, that's part of what contributed to this.

That sucks. Sorry for your pain. The same thing happened to me when I was in college. I hit the other guy and he ripped the nose off of my car (not the S2000) and I put a crease in his from the front to the back bumper. It was a dark rainy night and he was driving without any lights on. Cops gave me the ticket saying I failed to yield the right of way. Driver denied not having his lights on.

2k3yellows2k is a Honda dealer in New Jersey, maybe he can help you out.

Sorry about your car but I gotta say I really do not think that the other lady was going 55. Honestly from the pictures I'd guess around 20, 25 tops. But anyways good luck in finding a replacement.

Hey, I think Tidalwdave from the FL forum is going to be selling his car soon. It's Spa yellow!

Also, SC-Suzuka (Chris) is a sales manager at a Honda dealership in Miami. Try PM-ing him about this. Also, Poindexter (Alex) works at a Honda dealership in VA.

nope, her car is a complete and total loss, and when the appraiser read her speedo, he made note that the speedo was at "52" mph, the insurance company keeps getting her and I confused, so they'll tell me everything about her case, then realize i drive the s2000 and apaologize then tell me about mine.

Dealer in Miami? Thats cool! Miami is about 13 hours away, that'd be awesome to drive back with an s2k could stop in an see my grandma

I'll know tomorrow if it is a total loss, just in case, i think i got my honda dealership down to $24,000 :-\ for this 2001 yellow s2k that is certified, but i might just check out these other people ya'll have mentioned to see if i can get a better deal

thanks!!
