Default My weekend WTF moment.

So my wife and I are in the San Fernando valley and exit off the 101 so she can pee and I can grab a soda. A guy approaches me and asks me for a few bucks for gas money so he can get home.

I know this old scam so I politely tell him I'm tapped out.

Then he gets in his Jaguar and drives away.

WTF ?!?!?!?!?

So a guy standing beside a Lamborghini says to the guy in the Jaguar he's tapped out..

That's a pretty funny visual.

Maybe the guy forgot his wallet?

if that's the case, he probably actually did just need a couple bucks then.

Should have traded the Jag for a Prius and he wouldn't need the gas money

What kind of Jag? Some of the older ones are uber cheap.

Maybe he didn't have any plastic on him. Sometimes I will run out of the house with just my license.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be a good samaritan.

I can smell a scam. They way this guy asked me is the exact way I've heard it so many times from scammers. If he's have said, "Hey, I accidentally left my wallet at home and found that I am low on gas, could I borrow some money for gas and I'd be glad to mail you a check." Then I'd have been inclined to help him out.

It looked like this:

I"m a good samaritan all the time, don't worry. I just don't like scammers or beggars.
