If you want the truth, fatherhood is the greatest thing ever, if you are mentally ready. I've had to give up some things for myself, mainly due to increased time required for my children. That being said it's so worth it. My kids are amazing and I wouldn't want life without them.
see i think my parents thought the same thing until i started talking...driving....modding...lol

Your social life as you know it, is over. No more partying at the bars, going to nice restaurants or the movies. That won't come back until your youngest kid is at least 18 .
i have two boys one 11 months and the other is three and we go do something once a month, usually it's dinner, a movie, and then we hit the bar for a little while, sometimes you need a break and we do plan this in advance
my mom takes both of them for the night so they're in good hands

I was not ready to hear that... wow. I'm really scared. Any other parents in here?
Congrats to you! Time to grow up...You think you are scared, think how your wife is feeling. You men forget to think about the changes a women's body goes through during the 9 months she's carrying your offspring...Take care of her.

I hate kids... I'll kick a bitch in the stomach before I have a kid.
I hope you were kidding. If you weren't you are a dick and don't deserve to have the pleasure of having a child. Ever.

Vader - Best of luck to you and your wife!

do you love her? if you do then try to focus about what a beautiful thing it is for you two to be able to come together and make something that's half you and half her. the ultimate physical manifestation of intimacy.
coming from the guy who soiled his pantalones at the notion of him being a dad and not wanting kids...

This is good stuff...my wife and I have three now, and those comments are spot on.

Buy this book - it's one of the better books on pregnancy out there, but keep in mind that all pregnancy books are written to be scary by nature, so be prepared:

What to Expect When You're Expecting

Ok, my apologies for every member on this board, we are really getting slow........

Thread Title "My wife is pregnant"

The FIRST response should be: "So, who's the father?"

We will try to do better next time.

I have a 4 month old and a 31 month old (both boys). Children are great!

They can be annoying at times! But they are so worth it. My wife and I each work part time so we can share taking care of our kids and I'm glad I have such an influence in their lives. I am with my boys almost all day every day and I love them... but they love me more! It is amazing when a toddler truly thinks you are God / a super hero / the most important person on the earth, and my 4 month old just looks at me and smiles all day long... his smile is so addicting. Kids will change your life... but it will be for the better.
