one of my friends gets some serious back pains kinda like what your describing and it usually can be fixed by him getting a massage(helps that one of our best friends is a liscenced massuse) but mabey its worth a try. for my friend its usually muscles in his back have gotten so tense that they are pinching nerves. getting a massage might be something to try.
I threw out my back a couple months ago (and I'm only 24!) well doc said i just pinched a nerve and to just not pick up heavy items, stay in bed, relax.... just the normal stuff. I couldn't drive my S for over a week. Not because the Doc said so, but because it hurt too much to drive manual, even driving my sis BMW 3 Series. It Hurt soo bad that i would cry while driving. Just rest your back, do lots of stretching exercises and you should be back to normal soon!
Good Luck!!

The first doctor I had look at my back, took X-rays and said there was nothing wrong, then told me the same thing, to relax, stretch and come in once a week for heat treatment. After a month of horrific pain I got a second opinion and the first thing they did was check the toes to see if I had a critical back problem, which I did. X-rays will not detect herniated disc, only an MRI can and there's lots of doctors that over look checking your toes to see if you have a real back problem or just tight muscles.
