I went to my sister's house for TG and she put me on to napster.com. I'm sure all you hip kids know what it is. For those of you who don't, it's a music site where you can search and download all your favorite music. You can even construct your own albums. My sis burns her own CDs from this, but I just listen to it online while I'm conversing with you wonderful folks. Check it out if you haven't already. www.napster.com

Perhaps one of the best benefits is making CDs for the S. If you can think of a song, you can probably find it there.

I LOVE that site! "Sample" all you can now, because they are in current litigation with the record companies to start charging for use of it...

I tried Napster when I had a modem/dial-up (gag)...but when I got DSL, I kind of forgot about it. Sondra, I think it was her, mentioned it one day, so I downloaded it again and now I have a few gigabytes of music that I have had on vinyl, but that is not on CD, or not at least anywhere I have been able to find.

Napster is awesome...I now have a lot of the music that I haven't heard in eons, since I don't have a turntable anymore...long live Napster!

Boy, and I thought as an old 45 year old, that I wasn't hip, but if you guys are just finding out about napster, I am feeling better all the time (it does help to have a 17 year old son to keep you current). Between my son, daughter and myself, we have downloaded over 1000 songs. We then use a ripper program to covert to wav files, and burn our own CD's. It is great. It is extremely rare not to be able to find a tune that you are after. Love it. Now I can listen to all the great late 60's early 70's tunes, that I only had on LP's, and sound really bad.
