NASCAR has different definition of NA
So I read a quote from one of the NASCAR people talking about the possibility of Japanese cars ever being represented in NASCAR and he said it could happen someday but that NASCAR cars are Normally Aspirated and the Japanese cars are Fuel Injected. Now, I was under the impression that both Carburatored (sp?) and Fuel Injected cars were normally aspirated, and it was when you added a turbo or supercharger that you stopped being normally aspirated. So am I misunderstanding something or has the NASCAR guy inhaled a bit too much race gas?
It was on like page 3 of the sports section in today's LA Times. The article was actually about the possibility of getting a 2nd NASCAR race at California Speedway and this was a tangent that the story went into a little.
I've always equated NA engines as Atmospheric engines, meaning that they suck air as needed wit out any outside force...now, hey I could be wrong, but I haven't sniffed fumes in a long time
