need advice w/ Debian
First off, thanks for taking a look. I'm just starting to use Linux so I'm in the process of learning how to configure all my devices.
I started off installing Debian 3.0 as I figured a stable build would be best. I soon realized that my video card is not going to work unless I upgrade. I changed to test builds and I'm now running a 2.6.7 kernel. The problem is I'm missing a few essential drivers. I'm using modconf to install more drivers but the error I get when I attempt to install any driver is:
FATAL: Failed to open config file /etc/modprobe.conf: No such file or directory
even though /etc/modprobe.conf exists.
Anyone know why this is or what i should do to get the drivers I need properly installed?
