Need help from the boat experts
Had the boat out the other day trying to learn to do flips on the wakeboard. It did not go well.
But upon trying to trailer the boat the motor trimmed up the point where you use the "trailer" button to pull the motor up the additional few inches for the trailer and the trim just locked up.
I could not put it up, could not put it down. Pushing either the up or down button would get a "clicking" from the engine compartment which I had been told was the trim solenoids. (not exactly sure what solenoids do but anywho) The boat did have some water in it years ago that I am told could have caused a little corrosion in the trim motors. (I was told there was one motor for up and one for down)
Have had an occasional problem with one motor hitting a dead spot, but never both at once. Had to go back out onto the lake, go full throttle reverse and finnally got the trim loose and pulled the motor up and went home.
Anybody know some areas to check BESIDES the motors themselves? I think that the problem is electrical and not hydralics, because even when the motor is full up or full down, you can hear the motors running trying to raise or lower it. When this problem occured, their was no whine from the motors.
Thanks in advance for any help. Oh yeah, 94 Sea Ray with your standard 3 liter Mercruiser.
