Default Need help... car wrongfully towed.

Hey, I don't post here I lot, but I come and read threads here very often.
I noticed there's quite a lot of you guys that are knowledgeable many things.

Anyway, my car was towed last night from my own parking space. I talked to the towing company and they said that the person who called it in was able to show proof that it was his parking spot. The thing is, I was able to prove that it is my assigned space as well. This means the management screwed up and assigned the two of us in the same spot.

Back track a little bit, we have 2 assigned spots. My brother in law used the other one... the closer of the two. A couple of weeks ago, he went to San Francisco for summer. We started using his spot, and left the other spot open for quite a while. This makes me think that the management assumed that it was available.

Fast forward to today, I got my car back without paying anything to the towing company. Apartment will be billed for it, as it is not my fault. The car is ok, no damages...

Here's where I need help. I missed about 6 hours of work today, and have to use PTO that I have been saving up. Is it worth it to fight my apartment manager for 6 hours worth of salary? (Not more than $150)

Appreciate all the help.

CN:
My car got towed in my spot.
Other person that called it in was assigned the same spot.
Missed 6 hours of work.
Worth it to go after apartment for 6hrs worth of salary (<$150)?

i would say, bring it up to the apartment complex. if they don't comply then drop it. you might end up using more PTO time and/or personal time trying to get 150 back.

Its always worth giving it a shot, but in all honesty they probably won't compensate you in any form for the lost time.
I say this from the desk at the rental office.

I would definitely ask for compensation. They screwed up - they owe you.

Believe me, if it was your fault, you'd have had to pay for every red cent. They should as well.

Why? If I'm reading it right, it's not their fault either. Since the property management assigned the same space to two different people.

I would bring it up to managment, the chances of them paying you a check, or cash is slim to none, but what they might do is give you a free month's rent or discount
