Default Need help gaining weight

What is the best way(s) to gain healthy weight? And by healthy I mean muscle, not fat.

I been trying to gain weight for the last year or so and it seems I cant get past 180lbs. Its like hitting a brick when I get there Im 6'1, eat a lot, take protein, tried weigh gainer shakes, work out. I work hard to get to 180, then plateau there. Get frustrated and drop my weight, its like a endless regressive cycle

Any of you guys have this "problem"? Yes I know there are people who would rather be in my shoe then trying to gain weight, and to be honest, if I had a choice, I would switch with you guys. It seems to me like its easier to loose weight then gain...

You have to eat more. Keep track of your daily cal intake for an average day you eat. Increase that by 500 cals. High protein, high carb and lowfat. I'd say aim for 40% of cals from protein, 40% from carbs and 20% or less from healthy fats. For carbs eat whole wheat pasta, brown rice, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables. Protein from chicken, lowfat steak, tuna, eggs, lowfat milk, cottage cheese.

4 cals in 1g of Protein
4 cals in 1g of Carb
9 cals in 1g of Fat

subscribed for weight gain suggestions.

(btw, i bet the larger people would like to switch with you b/c they prolly think its easier to gain than to lose. )

It's not how much you eat.....it's how often you eat. Let your body process throughout the day, not just overloaded meals. If you eat big meals, you will $hit out most of it. If you eat smaller but more often like 6-7 times a day, you will gain weight.

I try eating every 2-3 hours or whenever I feel slightly hungry. Though I cant do this regularly just because of my schedule.

I thought doing this will help you gain weight because your always feeding your body or in a anabolic stage...if thats wrong then I should just eat 2 huge meals everyday...or just eat before i go to sleep.

It's hard to eat the necessary calories it takes to gain weight. There are protein drinks out there that will make it easier. The best one's are over 1000 calories per serving when mixed with milk. Eat your normal meals and drink two servings of weight gain drink a day and you will gain weight.

Look for protein drinks that are low in sugar, fat and moderate carbs. A good product I've used before is Mass by American whey.
