Try renaming the .pst that Outlook is trying to access and then try opening Outlook. Without a .pst file, it will open a blank/new .pst.

What does that do?

ok i guess its not the PST file thats corrupted, any other suggestions?

Nope. I'm not so sure about it being the .pst file. You will usually get different messages than a freeze up. Do you know how to rebuild your email profile?

Basically....got to control panel and the mail icon. Build a new one and set it as your default. See if it works.

Damn...I wish I had your system in front of me. Probably better than this stupid server I'm working on. Do you have the SR1 patch for office 2000 applied? If not you should. Sometimes it replaces damaged files when it's installing. I'm also researching this in Technet.
