Default Need More Hawaii Rec's (Maui)

I need some recommendations for food and activities on Maui. I have been there once before loved the Hula Grill in Kihea and Mike's Seafood Grotto in Kaanapali. I also did the bike trip down the Haleakela and the aquarium.

I have 19 family members traveling to Kaanapali for 5 days. Most are geezers. They will be into sightseeing and golf. A few of us younger folks will snorkel Molokini, take a helicopter ride, and perhaps boogie board at Hookie Pa beach. (please excuse my Hawaiian spelling)

What I need are recomendations for nice places to eat, and some day tour things to do for older folks. My 87 yr old grandmother will be there and a bunch of relatives in their 60's. Golf is about the most active thing they will do but golf course rec's around the Kaanapali area would be great. They will all have cars. Restaurants in any category are welcome recommendations. They are adventurous when it comes to different kinds of food and high prices are fine as long as the food is good.

The submarine dive was cool, especially for the "geezers" that can't snorkle.

It takes you 200' deep for one hour for ~ $50 (holds 48 people). We saw 1000s of fish, a 4' turtle, eels, manta rays, etc.

A trip up to the dormant volacanos is cool too. You drive up through the clouds, etc.

Book any boat trips (Lanai, snorkling, scuba) with Trilogy. They are the best and everything is top notch!!

I am told that Blue Hawaiian helicotpers is the best tour but Maui Helicopters is about half the price. Anyone have experience with either?

Travel is already booked, Kaanapali shores. Not super fancy but stayed there before and it was nice. The travel agent booked 20+ people so we got huge discounts. I was amazed.

But we go to Hawaii once a year because my fiance is from Honolulu. Perhaps in the future.........

I second Mama's Fish House- BEST restaurant on the island! There's also a really great restaurant in Kapalua on a golf course called Plantation House (I think). Incredible sunsets and it's up on a hill so you can see all the way to Molokai and Lanai. Both of these restaurants are on the more expensive side, but really excellent food.

For the old folks during the day, the aquarium is well done and pretty nice.

You can't go wrong in Maui- it's paradise!
