I own a trailer full of tools - a lot of them are yellow (Dewalt). I gave away my two 12 volt makita drills. I have burned up (they caught fire) two Dewalt 18 volt hammerdrills - I am fairly rough on the stuff...! They were out of warranty - just bought new ones. Batteries last about a year, then don't hold a charge for more than a few minutes (this is with proper cycling and charging). Make sure you hand them in for recycling!

Have had three 12" Dewalt compound miter saws. Still have two, and use them for everything, from framing to finish.

The cordless pack including the circ. saw, hdrill, and recip saw, and flashlight is a good buy - two batteries and a charger. The recip saw and cordless circular saw can be incredibly handy.

The Tool Crib will have the best prices. You may be able to access them through the yahoo link (is there still one on this site under vendors??).

I am considering buying this pack but, what are the main uses for a recip saw I have seen them a lot but never actually needed to use one.

BTW this pack cocts $1100AUD over here which is about $660USD. How much are they in your neck of the woods?

Also does anyone have any experience with Festo tools? They are beatiful looking tools and ergonomics are brilliant. Problem is they cost 50% more than anything else.

Get the Hitachi saw and check Milwaukee or Bosch for the hammerdrill

Love my DeWalt.

Have a 12" compound miter, 18V hammer drill (more powerful than corded), and 18V sawsall (great for pruning too).

This was my expense of building my garage myself
