Default Need quick help with English terminology

I have a very quick question. You know when you have a divide operation, the two operands are called the divisor and the dividend. But what do you call the two operands of a subtraction operation?

If I am subtracting B from A (i.e., A - B) what do I call A and what do I call B? I believe B is called the "subtrahend", but I don't know the name for operand A. Can anyone help? Thanks a lot.

Hmmm... Just noticed this. I don't know if it was meant as a compliment or something else. Maybe there is some history between Naomi and xviper that I am not aware of?

But I thank Naomi for the help.
Naomi and I are "old friends" from when she had another username here. She used to hang out with the Vancouver owners. I visit Vancouver annually but have never had the pleasure of meeting her, so my play on words does not relate to any "history". She seems to be a sweet girl and I hope to meet her some day.
ps. Both my own kids are older than her.
