This is for gaming only right? What games do you want to play (DOOM 3 is almost out of the question, but not totally). What are your system specs, CPU, RAM, Monitor....
Oh and can it be $150 after rebates?

I have a 2.4Ghz P4 533 MHz FSB, 1 GB 1RAM and Radeon 9800 pro. Runs Doom3 OK at 800x600 low-med detail. But it runs half life 2 at 1024-768 with everything maxed except filtering and AA.

I tihnk you can find the 9600XT or 9800pro for around $150-175.

SAPPHIRE RADEON 9800 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-Bit (at newegg for $145)

You should really spend the extra $60 and get this
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit (at newegg for $209)

I have the Pro and it runs DOOM3, FARCRY, HALF LIFE 2 all at outstanding framerates and resolutions.

Basically you cant get the new generation cards, so going back a generation ATi was topps.

I say go for that first card he listed, as I noticed it also. Mainly because it has DVI out, for good LCD monitors if that may be in your future, no reason not to get a DVI card.

If you want something a little more feature packed I say get an ATi All-in-Wonder.

ATi AIW 9600 ITs not going to be as nice as a 9800, but not much of a downgrade either. (sorry its $10 over the $150 limit).
But look at the features of this card (other than graphics processing). Only real problem here is that it wont plug DVI in, but if you dont have DVI or dont plan on upgrading your monior, then its not a problem.
