Some things are never appropriate to joke about...this is one of them. Try to use some tact regardless of the forum.

Plasticthug~ Just be honest....sure you might come up with some great ideas and all for the plans, but just be sure that she knows you are an honest guy. Think of a story that is midly amusing/true that would reveal to her that you are both an honest person, and have a certain sense of humility about you.

Dinner venue: Try to find somewhere you think that she has never been (without asking)...it is not about the price of the plate...the venue is key to a good conversation over dinner.

How about a dinner theatre? We have a few here and they're great, especially if it's comedic. I don't mean a comedy club or something (though that's not too bad of an idea, come to think of it) but rather a genuine theatre where they have a full cast of members doing a play. The one's I've graced with my presence ( ) involve the audience, plus you can eat while you're there and you get breaks between scenes and such to talk and get to know each other. It allows you to do it all - laugh, eat, get to know each other, relax, and hopefully keep you from feeling too much pressure. Great way to just break the ice.

*cough* I was just looking for some advice... so I could just come up with something... sometimes it's hard to just come up with something new out the blue you know... lol.

 

Take her some place like an arcade or pool hall where you can do things together. Then some place for a sandwich It may sound corny, but it's cheap and it works.
