Need some house advice...
Thunderchicken -
My one piece of advice is to remember that a house is an investment first and foremost. As such, don't treat the decision to buy/not to buy, etc. with emotion. Come at it as you would any other investment decision.
If it make you feel any better, I don't know anybody that owns their own house and doesn't have some sort of horror story to tell.
I hate to make generalizatios but.. most builders, developers, mortgage brokers and real estate agents are slimey, cheesey scumbags that you normally wouldn't invite into your home but you end up using them for the biggest financial purchase you're likely to make.

Like I told my folks, it's just scary as hell. It's a lot harder to walk away from than purchasing a car
I close on the 5th, so I'll cross my fingers and hope no more surprises happen. I found out today that my payments are going to be about $130 more a month than what they originally thought. They forgot to put in the correct property taxes into my payment. Bastards!
