Need suggestions/ Advise about surgery possibility
Hi S2ki
Well, I have a predicament, and I wanted to see if anyone here has had
the same type of issues and if possible you can give me a heads up on what
to expect and whatnot....
Anyways, I went to the gym last Tuesday and it was a great work out.. Did the usual.
3 sets of curls
3 sets of behind the head thingy (cant remember the name)
3 sets of free weight dips
Etc...
When I was doing the 3 sets of curls (on a bench) I heard a pop in my right
arm, but didnt pay too much attention to it cause it didnt hurt and I figured it
was just normal popping and creaking my body does with age...
Anyways, the next morning I woke up at 4 am with the worst stabbing pain in my right
arm and I knew something wasn't right (it wasn't regular soreness)
Anyway's, I went to the doc on that following Friday, and it turns out that I have
a "severely damaged my radial nerve in my right arm"
Strange, cause I didnt do anything out of the norm for my workout and I don't understand
how this happened this one time?
Anyways, the doc said I have a high possibility of having surgery to correct this now with the way the
damage looks.
He wants me to go to physical therapy beginning on 1 1/2 months (because the inflammation is so
bad according to him and if I do PT now I will mess it up more) to see if it can correct it by itself.
There is a 50/50 chance that the PT wont correct it and I may need to have surgery in my arm to correct it.
My question to you is, has anyone else gone thru this here? If so, whats to expect in the months to come?
Whats PT like?
With this surgery, is there a possibility that the doctor may mess things up more? (I have never had surgery
before)
I read that people with diabetes have a higher possibility of damaging their nerves for whatever reason...
My grandpa died of diabetes.... Does this mean that a simple work out could reveal the potential of
me having diabetes in the future? (I read that it tends to skip generations, and my parents don't have it)
Maybe I am thinking too much, and need to relax a bit... But it's kinda hard cause I never had any health
issues through out my life and Im kinda worried now...
And no, this was not from prolonged sessions of fapping
Thank you

I have no experience with this.
I can't help but back Raj and his legitimate concerns, being a medical professional.
Good luck dude, hope the PT helps. If not, surgery isn't the end of the world if it's repairable. When your heart pops, be concerned.

WTF!?!?!?!
I dont know why I typed out "arial" and not "radial"
Sorry for the mistake fellas.. It is the "radial" nerve.
And, I haven't tried fapping since last Monday
Just not really in the mood

The most serious concern is:
Can you fap with your left arm?
Can you fap with your left arm?
Im sure I can, but its like that feeling of the first girl you boink after breaking off a long term relationship....
You know that what your doing is fun, and your enjoying it... but it just dont feel right

Maybe I can use the couch folds to stroke myself off now

If you work out and are worried about PT, don't. Its always light exercise to put something back into condition through motion designed to do just that specific purpose, and is never really all that hard. Just boring and repetitive.
I had major shoulder surgery and did my PT religiously and then end result was good as new. I had a knee worked on and blew off the PT and have much less strength in that leg than the other. I wish I would have foolwed the PT more.
Never had a nerve problem, but i am not afraid of surgery. Doc's are pretty good and techniques are fairly advanced. I was always given the choice of live with disfunction and give up an active lifestyle or go through some surgery related pain to get back to near normal. I always chose to be sliced up and its worked out well. The only surgeries that would worry me are brain, open heart, or spine. But if I needed one I would still do that too.
Or, yeah, fap with the other hand.
