I seriously doubt you can "seriously damage" a radial nerve with biceps curls. I would think a biceps tendon rupture is a possibility. What type of doctor are you seeing? Have you seen an Ortho or a PM&R physician? If not - go see one of them.

I am buy no means a doctor but is it possible its tennis elbow which is basically tendonitis of the elbow? I play alot of handball and get that really bad every year basically feels like your elbows wants to come off its so painful. With pt its its all on how your body reacts to it, i had knee surgery in decmber and now when i goto play sports hard it inflames like a mofo and I have to ice it down. I went to alot of pt cause im tryin to keep my body in best shape as possible since im 18 and rather not live with a bum knee my whole life but things aint always greener I thought my knee would be like it use to be and it probably never will.

I screwed up my biceps tendons. I was overdoing biceps curls trying to get guns and got to the point where any weight caused pain. Now, 5 years later it still hurts to do curls.

Thanks for the info.... About ten years ago I went to the doctor cause I discovered that I had this weird looking "bone Looking" thing that would go over my elbow and move back and forth with my arm (it's really hard to describe the way it looks) and that doctor told me I have tendonitus to the elbows and it was going to cause me problems down the line....

Well anyways, I explained that to the doctor I most recently saw (ortho) and he almost didn't seem too concerned about it and kept insisting that it's a damaged radial nerve now.

Now I'm starting to think if The Most recent doctor I saw knows what he is talking about..

Thanks to everyone for your info!!! It is really appreciated

especially you, Raj

I'm studying to become a doctor
Please describe the pain to me. Does your whole entire arm/shoulder hurt or is it localized at your elbow? Also describe the swelling. When does it hurt the most? While you flex or extend? Be as specific as possible

I'd get a second opinion, doesn't sound right to pinch a nerve doing a biceps curl.

I ripped up my left bicep when I first started working out a few years ago,Basically was over working the muscle....did about 2 months of therapy at an athletic recovery clinic, which I recommend as they know their stuff about sport/weightlifting injuries compared a few other therapist I visited.

In the future though ...toss out most or all of your bicep isolation exercises,I went from 13.75 inch upper arms to 15.5 inch in just over a year and the only bicep isolation exercise I did was preacher curls to focus on the head.

I'm a firm believer in that the biceps is just too small of a muscle to do an isolated workout regimen with...stick to one exercise,1-2 times a week for your biceps, besides the key to big guns is Tricep exercises as they make up most of the muscle mass in your upper arm, also the Triceps have the support of Larger,Stronger muscle groups in alot of the movements, which means you can hit them with 3-4 exercises per session.
