Well you have to consider what we're starting off with... We can't exactly afford to build a chromoly (or aluminum) frame - we salvage one from a golf kart; we can't afford a 250cc from a dirt bike - we salvage a Ford I-4 from a ride-on mower.
So, right now, saving weight isn't an issue.
