yea, I also heard about the grinding problem in the S2000, I thought Honda would fix this already.

Wrong, it is a full SMT with electronic clutch actuation. We have had this car in Australia for 12 months now - I posted on it back in February - do a search on Sequential manual for S2000.
say what? An SMT is available for the S2000 in Austrailia?

Yep, SMT has been available in the Europe and I guess Oceania for a year already.

Similar in style to the quick-shift Selespeed box sold by Alfa Romeo, Toyota's system gives the driver the choice of using the gearstick or buttons on the steering wheel to change cogs. A heavy-duty, performance clutch allows shifts to be made without having to lift off the accelerator for increased performance.

But for some reason, the numbers I've seen indicate that SMT is actually slower than the regular 5-speed

Yeah, sorry I confused you there.

My thread was entitled "Sequential manual for S2000" (or something similar) and in it I talked about the SMT for the MR2.

In fact, you can't find a manual MRS Spyder anywhere in Oz unless it's a grey import. Doubt anyone wants to do that anyway, talk about different world markets.
