The case or the whole system? This was built by c3. Not a commerical box.

The case is from rackmountpro.com. It's not cheap due to the 6 hotswap drive bays. You can find the link here -> http://www.rackmountpro.com/productpage.cfm?prodid=509 I got the IDE version which works great. I've also used the SCSI version and it's good too. I will warn you that the mainboard power cable is way to short to reach the right side of the board where the power connector is. You will either need an extension or ask them to send one with a proper length cable. I've seen this case at other places but this place had the IDE backplane and was cheaper than the others. I removed the silly doors on the front. I must warn that this unit is not for desktop use. It is loud as hell to the point of being unbearable. Something to do with the 8 fans I guess (10 if you leave the doors on). It's the same case used by Penguin Computing and there is a 2 drive 1U unit as well.

The mainboard is an ABit VP6.

If anyone finds it cheaper, let me know! I'll post a more complete set of pics tomorrow.

Why RAID 5 versus say a 0+1 ARRAY and why go with IDE drives versus SCSI? 0+1 provides for greater reads, writes and buffer hits and IDE sucks compared to SCSI. I'm in no way trying to slam the server or what you (Cthree and others) do for this board. Just curious especially on the use of IDE versus SCSI. I can understand if it's the sheer cost of IDE versus SCSI.
