Would you shop at that store now verses what is already in the marketplace?

I think it is trying to compete with BJ's and Cotscos, and other upscale volume places like them.

I STILL won't shop at Wal Mart, regardless. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell higher prices stuff and pay employees even LESS than at a regular Wal Mart. They'll probably try to say something like "Well, you get to mingle with rich people, we consider this to be a benefit, which comes out of your salary" or some other BS statement.

Wal Mart wouldn't get the bad press that it does if they actually paid their employees a LIVING WAGE.

Will the "Wal Mart for rich people" sell products that will fall apart in 12 months as opposed to the standard Wal Mart products which will fall apart in 6 months?

It's not like Target pays their employees that much more.

The reason that I don't like Walmart is because of all the trailer trash that shop there. You don't see them at Target. Selling a $500 bottle of wine isn't going to get rid of the trailer trash.

Wal-mart might pay their employees aliving wages if they did a job worth a living.

Hi, welcome to walmart I need $20k a year to say that when you come in the door or to stock a shelf or to scan the bottom of a package.

I'm sure mom and pop shops often pay minimum wage more often than Wal-mart to work in a dingy run down store.

bottom line is that no one is forcing these people to work at walmart for sub living wages. if no one is willing to work at those low wages, then walmart will have no choice but to up the wages to entice people to work there. the persons that should be blamed for the low wages are the employees who accept to work there for those low wages. walmart, or any other employer for that matter, is not obligated to pay employees any more than what the employees are willing to work for, which apparent are extremely low wages.

This store is off the Tollway, at Park Blvd I think. SE corner, just south of the SuperTarget. CostCo is on the SW corner. WillowBend Mall on the NW corner.

I dislike going to Wal-Mart because their stores are usally filthy and the products aren't always in the best condition. I have much better luck finding stuff I actually like at Target. Sure, a jack-stand is a jack-stand and I have no problem getting one at Wal-Mart, but the experience just isn't pleasant doing it.

I also do most of my grocery shopping at a Tom Thumb, which seems to be attempting to go upscale as well. I guess I'm their target customer sugement? I'd certainly be willing to check out this new store.

I agree with Excel and Junkie. A lot of small towns love it when a Wal-Mart is built since they can practically employ everyone. Not to mention Wal-Marts bring it people from many other smaller communities from miles around which in turn helps the quaint little shops, diners, etc. Regarding the Mom & Pop stores that Wal-Mart supposedly puts out of business, I've yet to see any of them giving medical benefits to anyone but family/owners. In my area, a lot of the local owned stores pay no higher than minimim wage, but Wal-Mart is about $2 above plus they offer a yearly bonus.
