With the exception of video editing, no major (or desireable) player in the market makes games or other mainstream software that will work with a Mac or Linux.
If you think that the only major applications that work on both Mac and PC are video editing ones, you are quite far behind the times and probably shouldn't even be commenting on this thread.

That is totally incorrect. Do some reasearch before you post bunk like that.

But I'm not going to add him to my ignore list yet, not based on his behavior in just one thread.
I'm a Windows user, who was very seriously considering getting a Mac. Then Apple announced their ingenious marketing plan to make all current Macs obsolete within a year or so...
I'll probably still get a Mac, because I do like the OS, but I guess I'll just have to wait a couple of years and see how the new Macs do.

Sounds to me like he shouldn't be commenting in any thread...

$500 takes.

The only reason you never hear about how Mac's and Linux systems are inferior or unsecure are because less than 20% of the worlds population actually use those systems. It's obvious Windows will get attacked by the command line wannabe hacker crowd... it's the most used OS in the world.
Safari asks me every time I download an app in the .dmg format, if I would like to open it. If I don't want it to open, I press no. You can run a program easily without permission from the user on Windows.
I was born using Windows and I used "the worst OS Windows ever made" for over four years. I had no problems at all. It was frustrating sometimes, but I lived through it.
the macintosh system is just more intuitive for me. everything molds together and it just makes sense. that's why i use it.

linux?? hah. thats a joke.. linux will never be for the masses. the masses dont need linux. masses need windows..
Because MAC/UNIX/LINUX does not suit suit everyones needs as a whole. I dont understand why so many people bash Microsoft. Windows has been around for close to 20 years and a majority prefer to use it because its a good solid OS.
I'm pretty sure, even if we switched the world's population from Windows to Macintosh, the Macintosh OS will be more secure because of permissions.
A person could write a virus for a Mac, but it requires a user to download that virus, and manually install it, for it to work. There is a lot of effort involved here, and its not easy to spread, which is one of the main reasons you don't see mac viruses. The other is probably the Mac OSX/Linux market share, which is small compared to Windows. Its much easier to infect a Windows computer, and there are many more, so the work/reward balance favors Windows.
Macs make up something like 3-9% of market share, depending on where you go for answers. The thing about that percentage though is that there are something like 30 million Mac users in the world. Small percentage, but a lot of users none the less.
To say something sucks b/c it has small market share is silly. S2000's have a tiny market share of all cars in the world, but we all know how great they really are. The S2000's market share will always decrease too, since they are made only by Honda, in limited numbers, and many more other cars are made each year. Same goes for Macs - Apple is the only company that makes them, while Dell, HP, Lenovo, all make more computers than Apple per year, and Gateway, et al are right behind.

That's like saying I used Windows 3.1 and based on that, I'll never use Windows again. You know how silly and outdated that sounds?

0s 9 lived up to the days of win xp and it failed to convert me. my statement about os 9 is not outdated. they had 10+ years to convert the masses and they failed.
