..or am I getting old(er). Does anybody else find it a bit of an anti-climax or do you still get a buzz from all the hard partying?

You should have a trip to Scotland one New Year Muz, those guys really know how to celebrate it!

Personally, I've not got too excited about it since the Millennium

New years eve has never interested me to be honest, just another day.
I am sad that Christmas is over though.

New Years Eve is amateur night out -- a bunch of stupid drunks and drunk drivers. Not interested.

Muz, didn't it already turn NYE down under? I think I saw that on the news.

And Raptor, you are right on about what goes on on NYE. It's just a bunch of lunacy and I think NYE is more of an artificial holiday and one that I have zero interest in. I hate giant crowd scenes and would sooner hang myself than be found in a crowd of zillions of people...no thanks!

It's just a bunch of drunken debauchery...and not that there's anything wrong with that! I just prefer activities with druken debauchery occur in much smaller groups...

NYE is a stupid excuse to get drunk, wear stupid hats, sit around waiting for time to tick by and kiss people you neither know nor like. Happy New Year!!

I agree. I never liked NYE, even when I was a lot younger.

To sum up my impressions:

You are automatically over charged for food, drink, and service, all of which are sub-par. Drunks are everywhere, especially behind the wheel, and that is very scary! Everyone is "on-guard" on a this night, and considering the climate, who could blame them?

Happy New Year!
