Newborn infant tossed out of car window
Update:
As soon as I hear more after the press conference I will post it.
NORTH LAUDERDALE -- Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne on Friday said investigators may have found the birth mother of a plastic-wrapped newborn infant who was tossed out of a moving car a day earlier.
Authorities say the woman came in to a BSO office around 9:15 a.m. Friday and answered some questions. No charges have been filed.
``It is my belief ... that this person is the birth mother of the child,'' Jenne told reporters.
The sheriff also said that the interview with the unidentified woman ``puts a whole new light on this story'' but he gave no specifics.
``We do believe at this point ... that we will soon have an admission to the birth of the child,'' Jenne said.
No further details were released, but BSO officers have scheduled a press conference for 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

NORTH LAUDERDALE -- An unbelieveable twist to an unbelieveable story was just that -- unbelieveable -- Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne said on Friday.
The sheriff said the Good Samaritan who picked up a child that she said had been thrown out of a car was in fact the abandoned child's real birth moher.
Jenne said the disturbed woman did not want the baby she had delivered herself in her mother's bathroom around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and had decided to take the boy to a nearby fire station and abandon it. She took a shower, then loaded the child into her pickup truck.
But on the way, Jenne said, the mother decided to alter her plans. She saw a couple in a older model white vehicle arguing and "built her story from there."
She told deputies the couple had tossed the child out of the car and sped off and she stopped, picked it up from the swale of the road, then drove to a BSO substation where the baby was shuttled to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
The story Jenne said was completely made up and ad libbed as the day went on.
Since interviewing the woman earlier this morning, Jenne said the woman has been detained under the state's Baker Act pending a psychiatric evaluation.
She has not been charged with any criminal counts, but Jenne said she could face a charge of making a false report to police.
Dependency hearings have been set for the 8-pound, 2 ounce infant, now dubbed Johny after Dr. Johny Tryzmel, who is caring for him, and for a 10-year-old sibling.
