Have you tried anything that vibrates? Try holding her and sitting on the air conditioning unit on the side of your house or getting one of those chair things that vibrate a bit.

I put my son in his stroller and pushed him around the house until he fell asleep. Infants like the feeling of constant motion and it helps rock them to sleep. Try to find an alternative to the car thing, otherwise that is the only way she will fall asleep. After 6 weeks, my boy slept through the night, 9 hours....I would also suggest taking turns on night duty, because it is pointless for both parents to wake up during the night. Does your wife work as well or does she stay at home? My wife stays at home, so after 2-3 weeks I stopped waking up in the middle of the night because a stay at home mom always has the option of taking cat naps during the days when the baby is sleeping. My son just turned 1 and is all over the place, so good luck---it doesnt get any easier.

I've tried a vibrating bouce-y chair from Carter's, a vibrating mat insert for the crib, the ocean wonder rocking chair, and even tried strapping her car seat to the stroller all to no avail.

The only thing that came clsoe was the rocking chair. She'd sit in it for about 15 minutes with the setting at 4 (goes up to 8), but would begin to cry soon after.

We thought she was colic-y, but the doctor assures us she isnt. We've changed bottles from Avent to Ventaire to Dr Brown and it's all still the same.

She's a feisty, little one! LOL Sorry you're up all the time. She's adorable, by the way...I'm assuming that's her in your av.

Our daughter likes to go for a ride in the car, but we never had to do it to settle her down. She used to cry if we had to stop at a light, but now (19 months) she doesn't care.

Our friends' son (now 16 months) would not settle down unless he was in the car from about 1 to 3 months old. They would take him for two-hour drives just to get some peace and quiet. It was a rough 8 weeks, but he got over it and started sleeping without car rides.

What worked for my nephew was to put him in his car seat, and use the handle to swing him back and forth. He loved it and it put him to sleep. He prefered the high G forces, so when my wife or sis in law tried it he hated it since it was too slow. Me or my bro would swing it pretty fast and he'd be quite within a few mins.
