For the 4th year in a row. The player who is on the cover of the John Madden Games has been injured. In 2001, it was Eddie George. In 2002, Daunte Culpepper, and last year Marshall Faulk was on the 2003 cover.

Now Michael Vick (on the 04' cover of Madden) is down for 6 to 8 weeks w/ a fractured fibula, and before he was injured ESPN and everyone in the sports world were showing his famous run against the Vikings and telling everyone, Watch out for Vick.

Vick is an exciting player and because of the media he was being hyped up for a great season. It just sucks that his season got started this way.

So do you buy in the curse???

Football players get injured. Not sure if Madden has anything to do with it. Nature of the game.
The only curse that matters is the curse of the Bambino. Least up here. BWAHAHA

Yes.

John Madden is the devil. (Or at least his games are programmed by someone affiliated with said devil.)

No. If it happened another 10 years in a row, it still doesn't make it a curse. People seem to have a need to associate coincidences with some type of purposeful invisible hand. If the number 10 didn't come up in a Keno drawing after 1,000 tries does it mean it is more likely to come up on the 1001st try? No.

Besides, Vick, like Gale Sayers did plays balls to the walls. He naturally is going to be more susceptible to injury, let's just hope nothing like what happened to Sayers happens to him. Spend time worrying about a curse and in all likelyhood you will make a self fulfilling prophecy.

I just watch football, don't play it. But I love how they keep making it better.

Thanks, I actually found out thru a local sports news show here in San Antonio. I wouldn't say I believe in this "curse", but I do find it strange.

The Curse of the Bambino, now that is a curse, but if it persists for even the next couple of years, thats pretty astonishing, and would constitute as a curse.
