Nothing wrong with being nice, just don't be a pushover from the get-go. That's weak and shows your balls have yet to drop IMO. You don't have to be an asshole, but assert yourself. I was always mostly "nice" to women I had an interest in, but always kept them off-guard with something. Being generally rough around the edges by nature doesn't hurt either.
This. Nice guy works, but you can't be only a nice guy. Being nice + attractive + funny will get you girls, but that can't be all that you are or it won't get you much further.

Some dudes don't care for getting much further. In your early 20's, you can get by on two of the three. Most girls I know who met guys that were all three in that age range "weren't interested" (the guys, that is).

Wait, the guys or the girls weren't interested?

I was just speaking from personal experience. I've gotten every girl I've ever wanted, but I had issues making things last until I realized I needed to open up a bit and be a little more honest and frank sometimes. Being too nice kills personality, in my opinion.

Being "too nice" is one thing. But running next to a train waiving at a girl til you cant keep up is just plain wierd...that would scare anyone off.

Here is what it boils down to, physical appearance, money, and emotional strength. THAT is what a woman is programmed to like, regardless of how nice you are.
