Nice Shot! This golfer hits a Birdie...
Mikey, normally I would agree with you 100%. I figured the story was about accidentally hitting a bird in a tree and the bird dying because of it.
The guy made it his mission to go after the bird in his cart and hit multiple balls at it "trying" to hit it, there is a difference.

Mikey, the guy can put the ball in a hole from hundreds of feet away. There is a pretty good chance he can hit the bird at reasonably close range. Gosh, you think a golf ball might kill a hawk?
sounds like he was a bit of an idiot.
looking at the max penalties, a fine is probably appropriate. but a year in jail? people drowned kittens in the river 30 years ago and nobody cared. i'm curious to see what happens.
Isenhour, who plays on the developmental Nationwide Tour, was charged Wednesday with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird, misdemeanors that carry a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines.
let that same bird take a shit on someone's car during a photo shoot and then make the same annoying sounds. Let that person throw a rock at the bird while it's perched on a tree limb and kill it. half of the people crying now would be like that bird had it coming.
i'll bet if he knew it was endangered he wouldn't have acted the way he did, but that's just me giving him the benefit of the doubt. and the guy that told on him is a punk(imho). i could understand if he verbally protested the behavior, but he didn't. he went along with it laughing like it was cool, only later to develop a conscious. come to think of it, if they wanna charge the golfer, then charge all of them with something. because they encouraged the behavior by laughing and joking, but never tried to intervene.
oh and peta, i got a bird for you. <erects index finger>
