I've always wanted one of these but without the wing. I actually checked out that importer -- Motorex I think --in S Ca and they wanted about $85K for a used but US ready R34. I also read rumors about the Skiline coming to the US in 2 or 3 years badged as an Infiniti. Let's cross our fingers. I'll need a new dailiy driver by then.

That's a used one -- not a new one.

And most that skylinegtr.com imports have been modded. They do look for very low mileage examples however and will work with you to find what you want.

Personally I don't like the looks of the upcoming one, I'd rather have a nice R34 GTR V-spec model myself.

I don't know much about this car because I've never actually seen one. From the pix, it looks like the basic styling is pretty unspectacular - I'd probably mistake it for a Maxima. According to Road & Track the performance figures for an unmodded one are hardly any better than a stock S2K. Obviously if you want to make this thing go, you have to mod it up the ying-yang.

This car really is wolf in sheep's clothing. I like it because the styling is unspectacular but look out under the hood it is a monster and a technological marvel!! The rated hp of the stock one is 276 or something like that because the Japanese government has some sort of hp restriction. But apparently, in reality, it puts out well over 300. It has all wheel drive, 0-60 in under 5 and the only car to best the Porsche in the tour of Nurinburging (sp?)

Maybe I like the car because my daily driver is a Maxima!!

1Y2KS2K, not too far off on all accounts except the last one They respond very well to cheap (<$5K) FI mods, in the high 300 hp (+) range. And the driveline is stout, in Japan they build (aftermarket) them anywhere from 600 hp 1,000 hp

I love the car for it's rather blocky unassuming appearance as well... it's basically a brick punching a hole in the air while in motion.

As for Nordschleife, a modified one has run the magical sub-8min lap but some stock Porsches still outrun the Skyline (GT3/Turbo).
