to be honest, the "code of the samurai" came a bit after the time of the samurai was over. So are we talking the samurai who used bows and arrows, and actually fought hand to hand if pressed, in armor and all, vs. a panty-waisted ninja still in pajamas, dancing at dawn in open combat? Or are we talking a comic-book ninja pouring ant poison down a thread into a sleeping samurai's mouth?

I think the real" samurai would be stumping around on a black pajama-bootie after the fight at dawn, his foot stuck so far up the ninja's ass he needed a doctor to get it off. I think the relatives of the Bushido blade would be showing up to an early funeral if honor-bound went against the comic-book ninja who runs and hides until Bushido boy goes to bed.

I think a pirate monkey would kick both their asses.

 

I would have to agree that samuri's are way more honorable than ninja's. I would also have to agree that the styles are way too different. Samurai faces his enemy with no fear. All a ninja has to do is hop from rooftop to rooftop and while he's in the air...throw a ninja star at the target and just keep moving on. Ninja has one thing on his mind...kill and kill fast, then escape unseen.

A fast ninja just running full speed coming up behind a guy (cuzz you can't hear ninja's) and just cutting his head off and as quickly as he came disappear into the shadows.

That sounds badass to me =)

Samurai, ninja what's the difference? Don't they all kill people?
Hornorable Samurai? LOL, maybe there have been few of them. But I bet my lunch money most of them were no different from any other common soldiers in war...killing the enemy (anyway they can), raping women, killing children, all just part of the game.

 

There wouldn't be a fight. The ninja would kill the samurai and his family when they weren't looking. He would then sneak back to his normal life an nobody would know it was a ninja which killed the samurai.

Do you know why? Because ninja are samurai. Many ninja were ronin. Many of the battle techniques which make up the ninja style began as combat ju jutsu. There is still a complete ju jutsu family within the ninja curriculum.

As for armor-vs-black hooded ninja dudes, many ninja techniques were designed to work into the weak points and joints of samurai armor. It would certainly take some skill. One may know a pattern or technique but executing it properly is another story.

The final reason why we know a ninja would defeat a samurai:
Two men go to battle and one returns. That style continues. We all know that ninja are everywhere and there are no samurai left. That is because they were killed by ninja. Duh.



Ok, I am mostly making sh!t up, but it almost sounds like I know something.

This sooo reminds me of a kid when I was in high school who was so filled with asian pride....it was soooo fun arguing with him over who would win in a fight. We would bring in different scenarios weapons etc...and argue some more Eventually... everyone in the class had something to say about the subject.
