Default nipples on mtv, (no pics)

I'm always up late, I just finished watching Scream on the TV then I changed the channel to MTV and It was some special tv show on breast implants, (mind you its 2:00am) And one segment they showed fully bare breasts including nipples.. I was like WTF? how could they do that on MTV. Few moments later..Scene changes and nipples are censored.

anyone explain that? legal or not?
I personaly don't care but im curious.

Thanks

Were they good or bad nipples?

i've seen that before. i would think that it's legal. i mean such a huge station as mtv probably wouldn't make such a mistake.

raj - don't remember

I have seen that complete program on the "Learning Channel" - no censorship there. I think that if it's a medical documentary of a real procedure, they can do it, at least on Learning Channel and Discovery Channel and sometimes on Bravo (artsy fartsy). MTV might not have been justified to show a "medical" type program and the censors may have seen it as showing for the sake of nudity.

ya, that's presumably legal.. as XViper said, that type of material is always on TLC and Discovery, plus lots of other shows have a little nipple here and there like Soprano's or something along those lines..

blocked if sexual, shown if medical.....
if you ever saw Schindler's list when it was on television, they showed nudity in the gas chambers, but when two people were in bed they blurred it.

the truth of the matter is that cable (MTv) is paid for by the consumer, so the networks can show what ever they please (except for hardcore porn). It is sponsors they will lose so they just dont choose to show boobs, and swear.... except for Comedy Central, I have found a new love for that station.
