The R34 sells for the equivilent of about $48k in Japan... They cost a lot here because of the loops one has to go through to get one (and be semi-legal).

The R35 is looking ugly, but it's an early prototype - which are almost always softened towards the mainstream so people actually buy them. I just hope the U.S. doesn't get a nerfed Inifiniti Skyline that is more show than go. The technical details of the R35 (and the 03/04 NSX) sound pretty juicy!
